LOCATIONS: It is found among bushes, in sparsely lit groves and mountain areas.
STRUCTURE: Rhizome is a perennial herbaceous plant with many branches, creeping, reddish brown, 40 cm high stem. The base leaves are long-stalked, palm-shaped with 7-11-16 sections, the stem leaves are smaller, palm-shaped and attached to the trunk. The flowers are yellow-green, drooping, large, simple, 5-sectioned, with saucer-shaped marginal flowers and numerous stamens. The fruit is crusty, dry, cracked and multi-seeded, blooms in February-April.
KULLANILAN KISIMLAR:Kökleriyle birlikte köksaplar kullanılır.Köksaplar erken ilkbaharda Şubat-Mart aylarında veya güzün Ekim aylarında çıkarılır.Gölgede veya 45 dereceye kadar ısılı fırınlarda kurutulur.Kuru köksap dıştan koyu kahve, içten beyazımsı renkte, fena kokulu ve acı tattadır.Rutubet payı %10’dur.Balya veya torbalarda paketlenir.Kuru ve havadar binalarda saklanır.
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION: Poisonous glycosides heleborin (weakening effect), heleborein (strengthens heart activity), heleborside, oily substances, bitter substances, saponins, helebrins etc.
IN WHICH DISEASES IS IT USED: Like strophanthin, it has a strengthening effect on heart activities, diuretic, slimming and calming effect on the nerves. It is used in heart failure, hemorrhoids, water accumulation in the body, jaundice, pleurisy, cough etc.
It is recommended by folk medicine for spinal cord inflammations, meningitis, tuberculosis, nervous diseases, etc. It is used externally for hair loss, dandruff and hair strengthening by boiling with vinegar, purulent wounds, washing eyelids and purulent pimples, etc. It is given against cancer by boiling the root and stem with tree ash. In veterinary medicine, bundle grass is used against blood retention (spray) disease in animals (the animal's ear is pierced and a piece of whooping cough root is passed into the hole).
USAGE: Boil 0.5 teaspoon of finely chopped root in 0.5 litres of water for 10 minutes. Take a glass of water 4 times a day before meals.
