Hemorrhoids are a disease that occurs when the veins around the anus become enlarged and inflamed. There are two types of hemorrhoids: internal and external.
Internal hemorrhoids are painless and cause a feeling of wetness.
They may sometimes bleed.
External hemorrhoids cause pain, itching and burning and are extremely uncomfortable.
Symptomatic treatment is applied to hemorrhoids in the early stages. Surgical treatment is applied to hemorrhoids in the advanced stages.
