Herbal application terms


a) Liquid beverage/Solution: It is a beverage prepared by one of the methods such as boiling or boiling.

b) Lotion: It is prepared by brewing, boiling or a special method. For application, the prepared liquid is applied to the area to be treated and then massaged. If the massage is done quickly and hard, it is called “Friction”. Friction with lotion is especially effective for the hair roots and skin.

c) Pill/Pile: It is the powdered form of the plant, coated with the specified excipient and made into small, round medicine.

c) Poultice/Cataplasma: The plant is applied directly as a plaster or, if the plant is irritating to the skin such as mustard, it is placed in a cloth bag and applied to the skin for a maximum of 5 minutes. The most suitable poultice temperature is 45 degrees.

d) Paste/Electuary: Semi-solid preparations prepared by mixing the plant/plants in water, honey or syrup. It is recommended to prepare it fresh.

e) Syrup: It is a liquid and sugary preparation.

f) Ointment/Pomade: It is a form prepared by mixing the powdered plant with liquid oil.

g) Cream: It is a semi-solid preparation used externally.

g) Suppository/Suppository: It is a preparation applied to the rectum.
