Nutmeg

Nutmeg is the seed of the evergreen Myristica fragrans plant, grown on the Molucca Island. The tree begins bearing fruit in its seventh year, but can bear fruit until it is 90 years old.
Both the nutmeg from the fruit of this tree and the shell are ground to obtain a pleasant-smelling spice. It is grown in Indonesia.

Since it has a very strong taste, it is grated in the finest way. It is usually sold grated anyway. Roman philosopher Pliny mentioned nutmeg in the first century.
In Indian literature, it is said that coconut is good for bad breath, headaches and colds. It has a digestive effect. It should be kept in cool, dry and dark places.

Where can it be used?
It is used in some soups, vegetable purees, meatballs and gratins. In addition to its antiseptic and appetite-stimulating properties, it is also good for the stomach and heart.
It is also used in vegetable dishes, sweet pastries, cakes, cookies and buns. It is added to various sauces, especially béchamel. It is compatible with cheese foods.
