Tincture from narcissus bulbs is used in Homeopathy and its flowers are also used as essential oil in Aromatherapy.
Composition: The most important substances in the composition of the root are;
a) Alkaloids % are between 0.15-0.2 and the most important ones are; Lycorine (=galanthidine=narcissin), Homanthamine (=natalensin), Galanthamine, Galanthin, Lycorenin, Homolycorine, Narcissidine, Magnarcin, narcissamine and Fiancin.
b) Chelidonacid contains %2 ratio and small amount of Glutaminacid.
It is an antispasmodic, chest softener, expectorant, laxative, antipyretic and a nerve stimulant.
