Points to consider when preparing herbal medicines
Matters to be considered when preparing herbal medicines
* It is essential to comply with the specified measurements / doses.
* The water used must be “Source Water”.
* The containers in which the medicines are prepared must be glass, earthenware or enamel. Others should never be used.
* A wooden spoon should be used when mixing the medicines.
* If the plant is to be boiled, it is placed in cold water and boiled. Other methods are specified. For example: “Put it in 2 glasses of spring water and wait/infuse for 10 minutes.”
* Boiling means that the water starts to boil. For example, "boil for 2 minutes" means that the water will be boiled for 2 minutes after it starts to boil.
* Even if the boiled plant is not specified, it is filtered. However, some are filtered after brewing.
* Boil the roots and stem for 5-10 minutes.
* If the whole plant (leaves, shoots, seeds) is to be used, it needs to be warmed slightly before use.
* Sugar should not be added to bitter medicines unless specified. However, if it is difficult to drink, it can be sweetened with honey.
* Medicines should be filtered through a strainer or clean, fine cheesecloth before use.
* Medicines should be prepared in quantities that can be used and finished in one day.
