LOCATIONS: It is found in dry, stony and rocky places, in mountain areas, and in places up to 1000 m above sea level.
STRUCTURE: It is a perennial herbaceous plant. It branches from the base in clusters, the stem is 5-15 cm high. The leaves are juicy, fleshy, oval and stemless and are inclined to the stem. The flowers are yellow, irregular and are found in the form of a flower cluster in the upper part of the stem. The sepals are 5-part to the base, the corolla is 5-leafed. There are 10 stamens. The fruit consists of a star-shaped 5-angled fruit leaf.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION: Not yet known for sure.
IN WHICH DISEASES IS IT USED: It is effective against pain and malaria. It strengthens the digestive system and stimulates the respiratory center. It is used in heartburn and ulcers, malaria, atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) and hemorrhoids.
In folk medicine, it is used for bleeding, warts, etc. Externally, it is used for mouth sores (as a gargle) and (the freshly crushed plant) is applied to cancerous tumors.
USAGE: Pour 400 grams of boiling water over 2 tablespoons of the plant and wait for 2 hours. Take a tea glass 4 times a day before meals.
In folk medicine, the following plants of the same lineage are also used: White stonecrop (Sedum album L.) is boiled and used in cases of insufficient menstruation, and externally; against skin acne in young children (as a bath), large stonecrop (Sedum maximum sat.); its fresh leaves are peeled and applied to calluses (sometimes the leaves are used by acidifying them in vinegar), and it is also applied to purulent wounds. The juice extracted from the fresh leaves is an excellent remedy for outer and middle ear pain; Golden-tipped stonecrop (Sedum roseum, Sedum rhodiola DC) species increase the milk of breast-feeding mothers, are applied against diarrhea and against foot-and-mouth disease in animals (as a wound wash).
