It is a woody plant genus from the boxwood family, always green as a shrub or tree.

 Common boxwood, which grows in our country, is mostly a densely branched shrub and sometimes a tree that grows up to 10 meters tall. 
The flowers are greenish yellow. 
Its leaves and bark contain alkaloids, volatile oil, resinous compounds and tannin. It cleanses the blood. It causes sweating, reduces fever and relaxes the body. It is a mild laxative. It is used in liver diseases.
