Lupine
Lupin is a herbaceous plant from the legume family. It can grow up to 30-120 cm. Its flowers are clustered in upright clusters. There are three different types that grow as annuals or small bushes that appear in place every year. Our lupin is annual and its color is light lilac or pink.
Bitter grains are used.
Where it is grown: It grows wild in Europe, the Balkans and the Marmara and Aegean regions of our country.
Known Composition: Contains fixed oil and alkaloids such as lupin and sparteine.
Benefits of Lupin
It has blood purifying properties.
It increases semen.
It relieves shortness of breath and removes phlegm.
It removes the salt accumulated in the body.
It sheds intestinal parasites.
If applied to the bitten area in case of insect bites, it draws out the poison.
It is diuretic and relieves kidney inflammation.
Its poultice relieves rheumatism, sciatica and joint pain.
How to Use:
The ripe seeds are bitter and carry poisonous compounds, so they are soaked in boiling water for a while to remove the bitter taste. The loosened shells are peeled and eaten. The seeds can also be roasted and ground in a mill to make them powdery.
External Use: A poultice of the seeds is applied to wounded skin diseases.
