Turmeric Root is a perennial plant from the ginger family that grows tall. The leaf stalks consist of two parts. The first part is the part that wraps around the stem, the second part is the part that separates from the stem and is approximately one meter long. Its leaves are 50-80cm long and 20-40cm wide, oval in shape, with wavy edges, and consist of a main vein in the middle and side veins extending parallel to it. And they are dark green in color.
The flower stem is 10-20 cm long and consists of a golden yellow or yellow triple petal. The rest is a cone with a pollination pollen in the middle and is yellow in color. Its roots consist of main and side roots, the main root is tuberous, side roots are finger-thick, shaped like Jerusalem artichoke, brownish on the outside and yellow or reddish yellow on the inside. The active ingredient of turmeric is curcuma. At the same time, the plant has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.
Turmeric, whose homeland is East India, is not grown in our country.
