Sciatica
Pain that radiates along the back of the upper leg, the outer side of the back leg, and the sciatic nerve is called sciatica. Sometimes the pain comes on suddenly. Sometimes it progresses gradually. Movements are difficult to make when sitting, standing, or lying down.
The lower part of the spine is sensitive. The pain increases when walking, coughing and stretching. It is also called neuro-rheumatism among the people.
The cause is the displacement of the cartilage discs between the vertebrae, that is, disc slippage, inflammation or injury of the lower part of the spine, inflammation of the kneecap or inflammation of the nerve.
The first condition of treatment is bed rest. In addition, a thick board should be placed under the bed and no more than two pillows should be used.
