Grindelia squarrosa (Pursh) It is the dried flowering branch of the Dunal (Composi-tae) species. This species is a perennial and herbaceous plant with branches, sticky inflorescences and yellow flowers, up to 100 cm high. Although it is native to North America, it is grown as an ornamental plant in gardens in our country (Istanbul, Adana).
It carries volatile oil, resin and saponins.
Powder or decoction (% 5) It is taken internally as an expectorant, antitussive, sedative for bronchitis, whooping cough and emphysema. It is also used in cigarette form, mixed with the trumpet flower, for the same purposes.
