Where it is found: It grows among bushes, in broad-leaved forests, and in the forest areas of the country.
Structure: It is a herbaceous plant up to 30 cm high. The rhizome is branched, the stem is covered with glandular hairs and stiff bristles. The lower leaves are larger, entire-edged, heart-shaped to egg-shaped, sharply long-stalked, rough-haired, often spotted. The leaves on the stem are smaller, adjacent, rhombic, the flowers are at the ends of the stem. The flowers are red at first, later bluish-violet, the edges are dark blue. The calyx is stiff-haired, has 5 shallow sections, the funnel-shaped corolla has 5 leaves and 5 stamens. The color change in the flowers is due to chemical changes in the cell water composition. It is a nectariferous plant.
Kullanılan kısımlar: Dip yapraklar veya toprak üstü kısımlar kullanılır. Çiçek açma zamanında (Nisan, Mayıs aylarında) toplanır. Gölgede veya 40 dereceye kadar ısılı fırınlarda kurutulur. Kuru bitki yeşil renktedir. Kokusuz az buruk tattadır. Kabul edilen rutubet %12’dir. Balya halinde paketlenir. Kuru ve havadar binalarda muhafaza edilir.
Kimyevi Terkibi: %15 kadar madeni maddeler %4 kadarı eriyik, %1 kadar erimez silikatlar, vitamin C, provitamin A, rutin, reçineler, sepi maddeler, helme, ciğerotu muhtevasında mangan bulunmaması alaka uyandırmaktadır. Mangan kan teşekkülünü ve büyümeyi tahrik eder, vitamin B12 nin teşekkülünü sağlar ve iç ifrazatlardan bazılarının faaliyetlerini düzene sokar.

Liverwort is used in folk medicine for diseases such as sore throat, pulmonary tuberculosis, angina, bronchitis, shortness of breath, as an expectorant, against diarrhea, incontinence (rhizome boiled), etc. The liquid obtained from the rhizome boiled of medicinal liverwort is also used for hemorrhoids, blood spitting and blood treatment. It is used externally to wash wounds and eczematous areas.
Usage: Boil 2 tablespoons of the plant with 0.5 liters of boiling water and wait for 1 hour. Take a tea glass 4 times a day before meals.
