General Information
Strawberry

Strawberry is a fruit called strawberry that enriches our tables and increases our nutritional pleasure with its beautiful scent and pleasant taste enhanced by pouring granulated sugar on it in spring and summer seasons. It is from the Rosaceae family.
Strawberries, which are perennial herbaceous and creeping plants of the Fragaria genus with many species and varieties, consist of roots, rhizomes, leaves, stolons, flowers and fruit clusters. When the main (or primary) roots that emerge from the rhizome harden, they become dark brown and their number increases to 20-30. The lateral (or secondary) roots are numerous and white. The roots of strawberries go down to a depth of 60-70 cm in well-drained soils, while they grow superficially in heavy soils.
The rootstock of the plant is actually a stunted trunk. Its green, toothed leaves usually consist of three leaflets. Strawberry plants produce stolons from their leaf axils, forming buds throughout the summer. These branches are real stem parts that have the ability to conduct water from the leaves. They can root and sustain their own life.
The plant blooms white flowers in spring. These flowers mature 30-35 days after pollination and turn into compound, grape-like fruits with tiny seeds in red, pink and sometimes white. Strawberries are eaten as a delicious fresh fruit, and are also made into jam, marmalade, fruit juice, ice cream and cakes, and consumed with pleasure.
