PLACES IT IS FOUND: It is found all over the country and usually along the roads.
STRUCTURE: Annual or perennial sticky, foul-smelling, soft-haired, branched, stem; herbaceous plant up to 80 cm high. Leaves are hairy, fragmented, upper surface is dark green, lower surface is lighter green. Base leaves are long-stalked and rosette-shaped, and fade at flowering time. Stem leaves; alternate, stemless and wrap half of the trunk. Flowers; large, almost attached to the leaf axils, in the form of grape berries lined up on one side above the stem and branches. Flowers are large pot-shaped, mouth like a funnel. Sepals; 5-part, yellowish part. It is mottled with irregular violet veins, and petals are also 5-part. Fruit; consists of a pot-shaped closed capsule, the inside is full of wrinkled seeds in the shape of kidneys.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION: Hiosserin and hyossinicrine alkaloids; wax-like substance, resin substance etc. seeds contain oily substances and unsaturated acids.
IN WHICH DISEASES IS IT USED: The plant has antispastic and analgesic effects. It reduces the secretions of saliva, stomach and sweat glands.
In folk medicine, it is used for stomach and intestinal pains, neuralgia, whooping cough, meningitis, rheumatism, paralysis (nerve and brain), headache, alcoholic and atherosclerotic excitement, tremors in old age, insomnia, etc. Externally, it is used as a mouthwash for toothache. The leaves, in a ratio of 1/10, are used as a rub with a strong alcohol tincture against neuralgia, rheumatism and niacinitis. For this purpose, fresh baotu leaves are boiled with the same ratio of lahaha leaves and put into a poultice. Dry henbane leaves are rolled up like cigarettes against swelling of the gums, and rolled up with datura, belladonna and lemon balm leaves are smoked against shortness of breath caused by cigarette-asthma or inflammation.
USAGE: 1 tablespoon of crushed dry leaves is kept in 0.5 lt. of boiling water for 1 hour, then filtered. Take one tablespoon before meals 3 times a day. It should be used under the supervision of a doctor.
